Children’s Ministry Training

“…what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”

- Paul the Apostle, 2 Tim 2:2 ESV

No matter whether you teach Sunday school, VBS, Awana®, a Good News Club®, or even in your own home, our children’s ministry training will almost certainly help you become more effective at evangelizing and discipling young boys and girls. Our desire is that children everywhere hear the full truth of God and His word.

We offer training to help you and the children’s ministry teachers in your church to both know what God’s word teaches and to communicate it well to kids, as demonstrated in your words and character. Scroll down to learn more about our training topics, and how you can host and/or attend a training event in your church or community.

Also, every CEF® ministry teacher receives training from qualified and approved CEF staff. Whether it’s a teen teaching a verse in a Go Club, or an adult sharing the Bible lesson in a Good News Club, we train and work closely with the teachers in our ministries. We work diligently to ensure the children receive the complete, Biblical gospel of Jesus Christ, and are taught and counseled in the truth of Scripture.

Go Training

If you’re a teen looking for an opportunity to serve the Lord this summer, take a minute to consider applying for Go Training. Go Training will train and equip you to serve as a missionary to kids in Go Clubs throughout NE North Dakota and NW Minnesota. Not only that, but the skills you learn at Go Training will benefit you for ministry wherever God leads you after summer.

Good News Club® Teacher Training

Every Good News Club (GNC) is run by a minimum of two adult (18 or older) teachers trained by qualified CEF staff (though it is encouraged to have at least three or four teachers per GNC). GNC teachers learn to teach the Wordless Book Gospel-teaching method, Bible lessons, memory verses, songs, and missionary stories using CEF-produced teaching materials. All teaching materials are provided free of cost to every GNC. Background checks are mandatory for all Good News Club teachers (see “Volunteer Screening” link in the options at the top of this page).

Teacher Training

Our training isn’t just for CEF program teachers and volunteers. Our goal is to train, equip, and support children’s ministry teachers in local churches everywhere throughout our chapter, that they may be ready and able to make disciples inside and outside their church walls.

At any time of the year, you and your church may request a children’s ministry training, or even to bring in CEF staff as guest trainers in your existing training event. We’re happy to accommodate virtually any time frame and children’s ministry-related topics you might desire in your training event. If you want a one-time Saturday morning event, or an ongoing weekly or monthly workshop, we can help you plan your training and incorporate the topics of your choice.

Topics that we offer include:

  • The Theology of Child Salvation and Evangelism

  • Cultivating Bible Skills in Kids

  • Classroom Management

  • Basic Steps to Spiritual Growth

  • And many more!
